The next election will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2010. The last day to register to vote in this election is October 18, 2010. Registration forms are available at Cypress City Hall or you may register online through the Orange County Registrar of Voters at www.oc.ca.gov/election.
At a special meeting held on August 17, 2010, the Cypress City Council officially appointed Doug Bailey, Leroy Mills, and Prakash Narain, each for a four-year term, to the City Council and canceled the General Municipal Election to be held on November 2, 2010. At the close of the nomination period on August 6, 2010, Mayor Narain, Mayor Pro Tem Bailey, and Council Member Mills were the only candidates to file for the three open seats. Their new term of office will be effective in November.
