"California Wage & Hour Pitfalls: Best Practices for Steering Clear of Legal Trouble"

Maria Z. Stearns is Senior Counsel with Rutan & Tucker's Employment Law Department. She has extensive wage and hour class action experience and also represents employers in areas including (but not limited to) discrimination, retaliation, sexual harassment, disability, and wrongful termination cases. Ms. Stearns also provides preventative counseling and guidance to businesses on subjects including government audits, work force reduction, employee leave and disability accommodations, and sexual harassment prevention training. Ms. Stearns received her law degree from Harvard Law School and is fluent in Spanish.

Brandon Sylvia is an associate in Rutan & Tucker's Employment & Labor Section. He represents employers in all areas of employment law, including but not limited to, harassment, work place discrimination, termination, employment agreements, wage and hour issues, disabilities accommodation, and employment policies and procedures. Mr. Sylvia received his Juris Doctor degree from the Chapman University School of Law with magna cum laude honors.
