This Department program emphasizes participation, sportsmanship, learning new skills and fundamentals of volleyball plus, lots of FUN. Teams are co-ed. Weekday practices are scheduled by the coach at neighborhood parks.
Season: March 24-May 11
*C Division will be a clinic teaching the basic fundamentals
*A & B Division will be league play
Fee: $65 includes t-shirt
**Games are played weekday nights and/or Saturdays at Lexington Jr. High School**
PROOF OF AGE REQUIRED (i.e. birth certificate, medical record, etc.)
"C" Division: Children born from 2002-2004
"B" Division: Children born from 2000-2001
"A" Division: Children born from September 1, 1997-December 31, 1999 and in eighth grade or lower.)
Practices: Teams may practice up to three hours per week. Specific days and times for practices will be determined by individual coaches. Weekday practices are scheduled by the coach at neighborhood parks and at Lexington Junior High School, 4351 Orange Ave.
Uniforms: T-shirt will be issued to all players and is included in fee.
Type of Ball: If you are looking for a ball to purchase for your child, the Recreation Department uses the following balls for its leagues:
"C" League: Oversized and lighter weight ball
"B" Leagues: Official size and a lighter weight ball
"A" Leagues: Official size and weight ball
Volunteer Coaches
The Cypress Recreation and Community Services Department's Youth Sports league will be looking for VOLUNTEER COACHES for the Spring Volleyball season and the upcoming Summer Basketball season. Reliable coaches will emphasize sportsmanship, fundamentals, and team play. All coaches must attend training and be fingerprinted by the City of Cypress.
